What is Naturopathy?

Naturopathy combines evidence-based natural healing practices with traditional medicines to support the body’s innate ability to restore balance. It integrates lifestyle interventions, personalised nutrition, herbal medicine, nutraceuticals, and movement to create a foundation for optimal health.

Whereas a Western medicine doctor often focuses on diagnosing disease and providing treatment to manage or relieve symptoms, such as prescribing medication or performing surgery, a naturopath’s role is to investigate what’s driving those symptoms and address the underlying cause. Both approaches have value and can work hand-in-hand, but naturopathy emphasises prevention, whole-person care, and long-term wellbeing.

This root-cause approach may involve functional and specialised testing to gain a deeper understanding of your health and guide targeted, effective treatment that supports the body’s natural healing processes.

Hi, I’m Fleur

A simple dark blue flower with six rounded petals and a central circular opening.

A Clinical Naturopath & Pilates Instructor.

I created Blend in 2021 to bring together two parts of my world: a deep belief in foundational, natural health and a love for community and connection. I live by the 80/20 rule, and my philosophy blends structure with flexibility, science with intuition.

My journey into health began through Pilates, where I first fell in love with anatomy and the body’s natural rhythm. But it was my frustration with the lack of answers in conventional medicine that led me to dig deeper — asking what’s really driving symptoms, and how we can support the body to heal itself. That passion and curiosity for natural healing brought me to study a Bachelor of Health Science in Naturopathy.

I now work from a root-cause perspective, combining natural medicine with functional testing, nutrition, and evidence-based practices. My approach is practical, honest, and focused on sustainable, long-term change. I have a clinical interest in gut health, autoimmunity, metabolic issues, and men’s hormonal health, particularly testosterone optimisation.

My health journey

When I was at boarding school, I was frequently unwell, struggling with lowered immunity after contracting Epstein–Barr Virus (EBV) with no time for real convalescence or adequate nutrition. I began experiencing recurrent tonsillitis, which led to repeated courses of antibiotics. Over time, this cycle weakened my immune system further, leaving me prone to gut infections, frequent colds and flus, and repeated illnesses.

In my later teenage years, my tonsils were removed, but I began experiencing recurrent urinary tract infections, again treated with antibiotics. My immunity was depleted, my mental health suffered, and my ADHD symptoms became harder to manage. Without any focus on gut health, I also developed obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

Since studying naturopathy and working with my own naturopaths, my health has transformed. I no longer experience urinary tract infections, colds and flus, or gut infections, and my ADHD and OCD are fully managed through diet and lifestyle. I feel stronger, healthier, and more resilient than I ever thought possible — and this is the kind of change I now help my own clients create.

 FAQs

  • Functional testing looks deeper than standard blood work to reveal imbalances that may not be visible through routine medical tests. It offers insight into how your body is functioning on a cellular and biochemical level, exploring areas such as hormones, digestion, nutrient absorption, inflammation, detoxification and metabolic health.

At Blend by Fleur, I use functional testing to better understand the root cause of your symptoms and to create a treatment plan that is highly targeted to your individual needs. This may include hormone testing, gut microbiome mapping, food sensitivity testing, nutrient analysis or stress hormone profiling.

These tests can help us identify hidden drivers of your symptoms, develop more precise and effective strategies for your health, and measure your progress over time.

By combining functional testing with an in depth naturopathic consultation, we remove guesswork and can address your health concerns with clarity and confidence, helping you move toward lasting wellness.

  • Herbal medicine has been used for centuries across many cultures to restore balance, strengthen the body and support natural healing processes. In naturopathy, herbs are carefully selected to match the individual, addressing not only symptoms but also the underlying drivers of illness.

At Blend by Fleur, I use practitioner grade herbal formulations that are backed by both traditional use and modern research. These may be prescribed as liquid tinctures, capsules, teas or powders, depending on your needs and preferences. Herbs can be used to support hormonal balance, digestion, stress resilience, immune function, detoxification and energy production.

While my formal training as a Clinical Naturopath is grounded in evidence-based practice, my approach is also enriched by what I have learned beyond the classroom. Through my travels, I have sought out herbalists, healers and wellness practitioners from different cultures, learning unique plant medicines, preparation methods and holistic treatment philosophies passed down through generations.

This blend of modern science and traditional wisdom allows me to create treatment plans that are both highly personalised and deeply informed bringing together the best of what I’ve learned at university with the invaluable knowledge gained from experiencing healing traditions around the world.

  • Nutritional compounding allows me to create customised supplement blends that are tailored specifically to your health needs. Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, I can combine precise doses of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and other nutrients into a single formula, making it easier to take and more targeted to your goals. This ensures you receive exactly what your body needs, in the right form and amount, for the most effective results.

  • Lifestyle interventions form a core part of naturopathic care, addressing both physical habits and the psychological factors that influence health. This can include improving sleep quality, supporting nervous system regulation, reducing stress, creating healthy boundaries, and developing balanced routines. By aligning daily choices with your physical, emotional, and mental needs, these strategies help build resilience, restore balance, and create lasting change.

  • Actually no! I can see anyone, anywhere in the world. Currently all my consultations are via Telehealth, this means I can see anyone around the world which is amazing!
